<description>If you’re planning a trip to the Opal fields of Australia, Len cram has just bought out new book in Jan 2008, which I think is ideal to help you plan and opal adventure with your travels to Australia
Book is titled
The Wonders Of Fossicking and Exploring The Australian opal Fields
This book covers all the opal fields and has maps so easy to follow.
Opal mining areas include by state
Queensland Opal fields
Kynuna
Opalaton
Mayside
Opalville
Little wonder
Hammond
Hayricks
Bull creek
Sheepyard creek
Duck creek
Blackgarte
Yowah
Koroit
Quilpie Eromanga
Jundah
Winton

South Australian Opal fields
Coober Pedy
Andamooka
Lambina
Mintabie

New South Wales
Lightning Ridge home of famous black opals
White Cliffs
Book also has section about opal facts and opal myths
Very interesting book available from True blue opals selling onwww.opalauctions.com
If your planning an opal trip best time to visit in winter autum months as summer is far to hot and dangerous in the dry Australian outback

Best time is when opal shows are on
Winton opal expo on 7-11 July 2009 this will be large opal expo with symposium

Coober Pedy opal gem show 11-12 July 2008

Lightning Ridge Black Opal fesitival 24-27 July 2008-02-16

Australian opal exhibition 31July to 1 August 2008-02-16

Coober Pedy Opal festival 22 March 2008
Remember when travelling in Australia to always have plenty water and spare parts and spare flat tyres and to inform people where you plan to head to ,especially in the Queensland outback as heat will kill you in less than a day ,but now half area is under floods after 18 years drought
Hope this is helpful
Regards
Wayne
